A Brief History of Windows

Windows is a family of proprietary graphical operating systems developed and marketed by Microsoft. Each family caters to specific segments of the computing industry. Active Windows families include Windows NT, Windows XP, and Windows 8. These families may contain subfamilies. Despite its name, the Windows line has been around for over two decades. Windows 1

Windows 1 is the first major release of Microsoft’s Windows family of graphical operating systems. The US version of Windows 1.0 was released in manufacturing on November 20, 1985. It was followed by a European release of Windows 1.02 in May 1986. This article will describe the evolution of Windows over the years. Windows 10

Windows 8.1

While the public was critical of Windows 8, it appears that Microsoft has made many changes to address its critics. This change also marks a break from the traditional desktop structure and demonstrates a clear understanding of changing computer usage and hardware.

Windows 10 S
